Additional Context: According to a May 2025 email from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, or USDA, seen by The Aid Report, programs were cancelled in the following countries: Guatemala, Haiti, Peru, West Africa (regional), Bangladesh, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Uganda, Thailand, Jamaica, Malawi, Burundi, Nepal, Lesotho, Cote d'Ivoire, Mauritania, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Tanzania, Tunisia, Benin, Madagascar, and Rwanda. At the time this email was sent, there were still 14 active Food for Progress projects in 17 countries.

Devex Researcher Note: The USDA's Food for Progress programs purchase bulk U.S. agricultural commodities from American farmers to be sold commercially in emerging economies, with proceeds used to support agricultural, economic, or infrastructure development programs that increase economic development and opportunities for U.S. trade. Eight new projects were awarded at the end of 2025 across six countries, including Ethiopia, Kenya, Colombia, Vietnam, Nigeria, and Nepal.
