54% of total humanitarian and development funding for Somalia was from U.S. government foreign assistance. USAID's abrupt termination and reduction of programs in Somalia has resulted in over 33 organizations ceasing operations across multiple sectors, including health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene, food assistance, and livelihood development.
