A local Haitian organization working with girls and young women reported loss of funding for psychologists to work with survivors of sexual violence. It reported that organizations it refers children to for post-rape services also have lost funding or shut down completely leaving girls without urgent health attention needed to prevent or treat HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.

Additional Context: In February 2025, Amnesty International released a report documenting rape and other forms of sexual violence against children by gangs. Not only did they find the prevalence high, but that there is a little access for children and other survivors of sexual violence to comprehensive post-rape services, including HIV treatment.
This information can be found in their report "Lives at Risk: Chaotic and Abrupt Cuts to Foreign Aid Put Millions of Lives at Risk." The analysis is principally based on public documents, including court filings and executive orders, news and civil society reports, and legal frameworks carried out between January and May 2025. The authors also conducted 43 interviews, and integrated ongoing communication with NGOs, international organizations, public health specialists, and aid workers.
