A spike in armed conflict has caused the number of people in need of humanitarian assistance to increase from 6.4 to 8 million in Eastern DRC. Cuts to U.S. foreign assistance, which originally provided 88% of health funding in Eastern DRC, mean that 70% of those needing assistance will be left without humanitarian aid.
