Additional Context: Nearly 13 million people—one in three Sudanese—have been displaced since violence broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces in April 2023. Aid agencies provided food and other assistance including cash assistance to buy medication. US funding also supported Sudan's Emergency Response Rooms (ERRs) or community soup kitchens to reach conflict-affected communities. The aid has stopped and many ERRs have closed, with those continuing having to cut their services.
