Policy Lens: Security & Resilience

Additional Context: The Cash Consortium of Sudan (CCS), led by Mercy Corps in partnership with 8 international and 12 national organizations, provided direct cash assistance to help families in conflict-affected areas meet their basic needs. Funded by ECHO, BHA, and FCDO, CCS focuses on the hardest-hit areas of Sudan, where people are facing extreme hunger.

The suspension of BHA funding, which made up 57% of the Cash Consortium of Sudan’s (CCS) budget, has forced an immediate halt to critical cash assistance programs, cutting off lifelines for hundreds of thousands of people.

The program was terminated.
