An international disability and mine action NGO had 22 of its U.S.-funded projects terminated throughout 2025, directly impacting activities in 15 countries. The organization estimates that the activities of more than 100 partner associations were impacted, and around 300,000 people have seen their daily lives affected by the terminations.

Additional Context: Humanity & Inclusion, or HI, had 20 of its 32 U.S.-funded projects, with a total value of $48 million, terminated after the cuts of early 2025. Two additional programs were terminated over the course of the year, while others concluded without the opportunity for follow-on awards. This has resulted in the loss of over 800 staff members globally. As of May 2026, only three U.S.-funded projects remain active, but the opportunity for extensions or follow-ons is unclear.
