Additional Context: This information was collected as part of The Aid Report's original reporting found in the Devex featured article "Afghans ‘desperate’ as aid cuts bring mass hunger crisis." Our journalist reports that as the snow cuts off highland communities in Afghanistan, aid workers say many won’t be alive once it melts.

The International Rescue Committee, or IRC, went from 28 to 17 clinics in this region. The World Food Programme, or WFP, and other NGOs, like IRC, have typically delivered food aid ahead of the colder weather and heavy snowfall. But this year, a lack of resources has prevented WFP from reaching some remote mountain communities. These clinics could have helped people suffering from undernutrition.
