Entry Type: Secondary Effect
Additional Context: The organization, MSI Reproductive Choices, delivers reproductive healthcare and family planning services in 36 countries worldwide. The ‘Choice Emergency Fund’ was launched in February 2025, and had raised $5.5 million as of November 2025. This fund has been used, according to the organization, to purchase contraceptives, conduct outreach and family planning services, and train healthcare workers.
Devex Researcher Note: Despite its own loss of funding, MSI has stated that it is in a position to "plug gaps" that have been left by organizations affected by the U.S. aid cuts. MSI moved away from over-reliance on U.S. government funding towards self-financing prior to the cuts taking place.
