Closure of the Local Health Solutions project dismantled district-level rapid response systems built after the Ebola epidemic. The loss of this coordination platform increases Liberia’s vulnerability to future outbreaks and undermines public trust in health institutions still in recovery.

Additional Context: In close partnership with the Government of Liberia, MSH provided guidance and support to four Liberian organizations—all women-led—as they worked to strengthen the country’s health system. Working at the national and subnational levels, the Local Health Solutions (LHS) Activity focused on promoting inclusive governance structures, strengthening supply chain management, enhancing data use, and improving the quality of services, including maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health; malaria services; and laboratory and disease surveillance systems.
