Cuts to foreign aid have resulted in the removal of adherence counselors and peer educators, leaving newly enrolled patients without vital treatment literacy. Many clients now do not receive viral load testing, adherence counselling, HIV testing, and psychosocial support necessary for treatment adherence.

One documented case shows that four clinicians were reduced to one clinician and one nurse.
