Additional Context: This project was being implemented by Population Services Zimbabwe, or PSZ, a local affiliate of MSI Reproductive Choices, an international reproductive health care NGO. The project intended to fund MSI'smobile health teams, support 100 public health facilities and 120 private healthcare operators, deliver contraceptive medicines and sexual health education across the country. The organization estimated that 1.3 million women would lose access to sexual and reproductive health services, leading to 461,200 unintended pregnancies and 1,400 maternal deaths if funding is not restored.
Devex Researcher Note: According to the organization, PSZ had received a$9 million USAID grantto deliver outreach services for reproductive health in Zimbabwe.Only $2.1 million was spent when funding halted in mid 2025.
