Entry Type: Human Impact
Additional Context: According to Inclusive Development Partners, or IDP, the shutdown of USAID activities has created challenges for children with disabilities in Malawi. USAID-funded activities ensured teachers received the necessary training to support all students, including those with disabilities, in the classroom. Further, without USAID’s support, many schools no longer afford the resources needed for learners with disabilities. These children are now missing out on education, limiting their chances of finding employment and living independent lives in the future.
