Additional Context: In August 2025, the Zambian government had already disbursed $4.3 million through the United Nations Population Fund, or UNFPA, to procure family planning commodities. This increased funding represents an additional commitment intended to leverage match funding and strengthen domestic ownership, according to UNFPA.

According to MSI, before the aid cuts, USAID supported 60% of all financing for family planning commodities in the country.
