Malaria cases in Zamfara State could rise sharply within 12-18 months after the end of a U.S.-funded malaria program led by MSH. The program had helped the Zamfara State Ministry of Health protect about 5.4 million children under five each year with preventive treatment. Its closure also leaves health workers with less support to track infections, confirm test results, and manage medical supplies.
