Additional Context: This information was collected by the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, or OCHA, from a survey conducted with 17 humanitarian actors at the regional and field level. Examples of organziations noted to have reduced or suspended assessments and primary data collection include Catholic Relief Services, or CRS, IMPACT Initiatives, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, or IFRC.

Devex Researcher Note: While funds for data collection and information management are not uniquely canceled for most of these NGOs, 63% of CRS' revenue in 2023 was from the U.S. government, with notable terminations in 2025. In addition, the U.S. pledged at least CHF22.5 million, or $28.7 million, to IFRC's emergency hunger and humanitarian appeal in Africa through USAID. However, the final report of this appeal, which came out in July 2025, shows that zero dollars ended up being channelled to the organization from the U.S. government. IMPACT initiatives had received about half of its funding for humanitarian data collection from the U.S. government. Many of these grants appear to be terminated as per a March 2025 memo.
