The termination of USAID and USDA programs that supported food security has resulted in the collapse of communication and coordination networks. The Food Aid Consultative Group (FACG), a U.S. government mandated forum that included USAID, implementing partners, and suppliers ceased functioning.

Topic: Food & Farming
Policy Lens: Economic & Trade Interests
Additional Context: FACG was a public-private forum and coordination group mandated in the Farm Bill to provide a platform for U.S. government agencies to interact with private sector counterparts including private voluntary organizations and agricultural trade groups on food assistance priorities.
As a result of U.S. foreign aid cuts, many working groups, technical communities of practice and donor-partner coordination channels went quiet, sometimes overnight. Organizations no longer had reliable ways to ask questions, share delays, or coordinate basic logistics.
