With the termination of multisector humanitarian assistance programs in Ukraine in early 2025, organizations such as The Tenth of April (TTA) have faced significant reductions in their ability to provide dedicated gender-based violence related psychosocial support and case-oriented assistance in areas hardest hit by violence.

Country: Ukraine

Topic: Peacebuilding & Stabilization, Refugees & Displacement

Policy Lens: Security & Resilience

Additional Context: Former USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance programming provided basic assistance (food, hygiene and other essential items, voucher support), as well as cash assistance to help households cover their most urgent needs, and psychosocial support and protection services, including individual and group support for conflict-affected people and survivors or those at risk of gender-based violence. Without this basic assistance, organizations providing supplementary services have faced barriers continuing their work effectively.

The Tenth of April (TTA) is a Ukrainian humanitarian and human rights organization, supporting internally displaced and war-affected people, as well as refugees, asylum seekers, stateless persons and those at risk of statelessness across 11 regions of the country. Established by human rights lawyers, TTA delivers legal aid, psychosocial support, protection services, emergency assistance and community-based programs, while working to strengthen the rule of law and help vulnerable communities recover and rebuild.
